Leadership
Inspiring Our Communities
Effective leaders often leave a lasting legacy and mentor the next generation of leaders, passing on their knowledge and skills. Embrace your role as a change agent and leader through a variety of programs throughout the year.
The Office of Intercultural Engagement and Leadership wants students to be able to identify and think critically about the values of change agency and develop an understanding of their role in systematic leadership and advocating for change.
Voter Engagement
Student participation in democracy is one of the many ways we support students’ leadership development. We offer non-partisan information and resources to help students register and prepare to vote and support the educational efforts of campus partners.
Join us as we register students across campus to register to vote. We'll have music, food and a variety of organizations and resources to connect with.
Follow us on social media this week @tamuc_Iel to learn the tools, information and the confidence you need to get out and vote.
Are you passionate about democratic engagement? Join our coalition. We'll have monthly meetings to help plan and promote voter and other democratic activities on campus. Contact Dwala Chandler for more information.
Educational Workshops
Leadership development is at the core of everything we do. We offer a variety of educational workshops throughout the year to support students in individual leadership growth and development, including:
We offer a variety of workshops based on Gallup's world-renowned Clifton Strengths Assessment. These workshops help students identify their talent themes and grow confident in who they are and how they can contribute to the world. Certified staff facilitate student learning and help guide the development of individual talents into strengths.
We offer a range of travel programs that help students develop leadership skills, cultural competency and build community all while learning more about organizational change and social justice. Faculty, departments, student organizations and/or residents can request a workshop or program.
To better serve our online students and remote learners, we will be offering a series of live and pre-recorded online workshops. To join our online classroom for access to our D2L learning portal, contact Dwala Chandler.
